At the political center of Washington DC, Capitol Hill stretches eastward of the Capitol Building. Townhouses line many of the streets of the area's historic district, while rental apartments are concentrated primarily in the eastern part of the neighborhood.
- Head to Pennsylvania Avenue for shopping or Eastern Market to pick up some fresh produce.
- Capitol Hill is close to Union Station. In addition to allowing residents to catch trains to New York and other east-coast cities, Union Station is home to a diverse collection of shops and restaurants. It doubles as a red line metro stop of the same name.
- The Capitol Hill area features over 50 small inner-city parks, allowing renters and owners to enjoy greenery without having to leave the city.
- In addition to the Capitol, area landmarks include the Supreme Court building and the Library of Congress.
