Foggy Bottom

Foggy Bottom's central location (including the iconic Washington Circle) means that a night out on the town, a day at museums, or a stroll on the National Mall are all within easy walking distance. © NCinDC of Flickr

The Center of the City

A neighborhood comprised of mostly townhouses and mid-rise condos, Foggy Bottom is home to many large DC institutions, including George Washington University, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and State Department, and the Watergate complex. With I-66, I-395, Route 50, and the George Washington Parkway all minutes away, Foggy Bottom is very accessible via car and Metro (Orange, Silver and Blue lines) to the Washington, Virginia, and Maryland regions.

Local eateries and a seasonal farmer’s market located at the Foggy Bottom Metro are great places to pick up scrumptious treats and meet up with friends for a drink post-work or pre-theater. Nature and outdoor sports enthusiasts will love the proximity to both Rock Creek Park’s scenic pathways and the Georgetown Waterfront’s active boating scene. Foggy Bottom is at the center of DC, just a short walk away from the White House, and the National Mall, and a plethora of museums .
