In “D.C. riverfront finally taking shape, with opening of Yards Park,” the Washington Post reported that the grand opening of Yards Park in Southeast will be this weekend. In last month’s neighborhood expert interview of our newsletter, Jacqueline Dupree of JDLand.com said that, for her, the six-acre space along Anacostia River is a long-awaited development in Southeast.
The park will be used for weddings, festivals and other public events. “It will tie people around here together,” says Michael Stevens executive director of the nonprofit Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District.
