Last week, our friend K. David Meit–whom we featured in an interview on rent control in the March issue of our newsletter–wrote an editorial addressing the same topic in the Washington Business Journal.

In light of the upcoming expiry of the District’s Rental Housing Act of 1985, David examines the consequences of this practice. He concludes that “…rent control does not protect D.C. residents who need affordable housing and actually decreases the city’s affordable housing stock.” Read David’s editorial.
