Is your apartment finder service really free for renters?
Absolutely. No strings attached.
How do you make money?
DC area landlords pay us a fee for helping them find qualified renters (like you!) who move in.
Why don't you list addresses for the apartments on your site?
We’re not just a listing service. We’re all about matching the right tenants with the right landlords. Our value comes from saving renters and landlords time, hassle and frustration by talking to renters first and setting up appointments.
Can you help me find a DC apartment if I live in another city?
Definitely. Whether you’re moving from across town or across two time zones, our licensed rental agents have the local knowledge to make it happen without hassle.
I don't know the area well. Can you help find the best neighborhood in DC for me?

Yes, we offer paid tours of the area with one of our DC-savvy agents. More of a virtual (or free) tour kind of person? Check out our fluff-free neighborhood guides for DC area renters.

Are your agents licensed?
All of our agents are licensed as required in DC, VA or MD.
What makes you better than Craigslist?
We’re much more than an online bulletin board or apartment finder site. Our agents are real people, from your backyard (or backyard-to-be): DC, Virginia, and Maryland. They work with renters like you every day, so they know DC's neighborhoods and rental market trends inside and out. They can save you days, if not weeks, of fruitless searching… not to mention gas, metro fares, and stress. Renters who have worked with us are our strongest advocates: See what DC renters say about us.
Where is your office?
1808 Eye Street in the heart of downtown DC. We're just across from the Farragut West Metro station (orange and blue lines) and a few blocks from the Farragut North station (red line).
What are your top neighborhoods?
In Virginia our widest selection of apartments is in the Ballston-Rosslyn corridor (including Clarendon and Courthouse), Alexandria, and Pentagon City. In DC our biggest inventory is in Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, and Friendship Heights. And in Maryland our top areas are Bethesda and Rockville.
Where did the name Urban Igloo come from?

The “Urban” part is pretty self-explanatory. We cater to people who want to live in and around Washington, DC, one of the most vibrant and exciting urban areas in the world.

As for “Igloo,” well, they’re about as intimate and personal as housing gets. Which is exactly the way we look at the apartments we help our customers find. It’s a personal space perfectly suited to your unique personality and interests.
