Why we are free to you
|
How does Urban Igloo work ? The answer is that we get paid directly from the
landlords when we bring them YOU.... a credit-worthy tenant who has just
found his or her perfect apartment, townhouse, or home. We represent your
interest, and are paid by Landlords and owners to fill a vacancy. We do not
work on the Landlord's behalf.
Urban Igloo is paid a fee, or a commission, by the owner of the rental,
normally equivalent to one month's rent for the 12 month lease, and two
months' rent for a lease of 13-36 months. Whether you are on your own or
with Urban Igloo, you will not get charged more by the Landlord. However, in
some cases a Landlord pay us less than a month's rent for the hard work we
do on your behalf, so we look to you to support us and ensure we get paid
the difference. That's not very often. And, if you happen not to find the
perfect place in our inventory, we'll stick with you as we do "paid by
renter" searches as well, just like rental agents in New York.
Don't trek around the city trying to find an apartment or house on your own!
You'll waste valuable time poring through newspaper ads, arranging to meet
landlords who may never show, and taking public transportation to
hard-to-find addresses. You'll waste valuable energy trying to compare costs
and benefits without the help of our state-of-the-art database with all the
best apartments. Plus, you'll miss out on the fun of working with our cool
Urban Igloo staff!
